Joules’ Free Comic Book Day Quest

H

ey, everyone.  In case you didn’t get the memo, today was Free Comic Book Day (always the first Saturday in May).  Publish Chicago did a quick tour around Chicago to find out which book stores were celebrating, and if we could score some free comics.

My first stop, Brainstorm Comics, did not offer any free comics.
They had some discount if you spent over $50 dollars.  Lame. ಠ_ಠ

I valiantly continued on to Quimby’s Bookstore,
home of Chicago-made zines
and lots of bookish odds and ends.

Success! Quimbys had a giant table of free
comicy goodness.

The last store at which I stopped, Myopic Books, definitely
didn’t have anything going on for free comic book day, which was
sort of expected. I blue-lined it home and laid out my spoils from
Quimbys. Thanks to them, this ended up being a pretty great
Free Comic Book Day.
