Red Mud

V

irtual Artists Collective Poetry always pleases me.  Their books are usually very cohesive, using theme as a major structural element.  Here’s the description of the book from their site:

Red Mud is elemental: earth, water, blood. Its poems are both lyrical and direct, engaging the reader in a journey through terrain inhabited by distant men and cautious women, guided by the deer, mouse, bird, and fox. The poet, like the moose, who, given mud, makes pleasure of it.”

This subtle and well-wrought poems show Patricia Goodrich at her best. A moving collection.
